What is coaching The object of coaching is to unlock the potential of a person to maximise their own performance. It is helping them to learn rather than teaching them. Whatever business issues an individual may face, coaching can help them to think about the problem in a new way and find solutions for themselves. The role of coach is to ask incisive and probing questions to help the individual to think, not to tell someone what to do or how they should think. Creating space and time to think clearly is the essence of coaching and the resulting solutions are powerful and meaningful to the individual. Our approach Typically, the first meeting will last for 2 hours to get to know more about the background of the person and discuss the issues to which they want to find solutions. After that, it depends on what they want to achieve. Some people like to have a coach available every month or every six weeks to make sure they are sticking to their goals and plans. Other people have a particular issue they want to get to grips with and this may only take three or four sessions. The sessions can be as regular as is needed and can be face-to-face or by telephone. With career coaching, we use a structured range of exercises to get to the heart of what motivates you and then explore how you can use your talents and skills more effectively.
